THE FIRST EMIL TRAINING: STRENGHTENING THE INTERCULTURAL
AND INTERRELIGIOUS COMPETENCIES


Dialogue, peace and understanding are being founded in a way of strenghtening our intercultural and interreligious competencies, what actually was the subject of the first two-days training for professors. On 15 and 16 of August 2019, TPO Foundation has organized the training as a part of EMIL (Empowerment of Multireligious and Intercultural Learning) programme about strenghtening the intercultural teaching competencies in coordination with the Ministries of education, science, culture and sport of 5 cantons: Herzegovina – Neretva, Central Bosnia, Tuzla, Zenica – Doboj and Sarajevo that suggested those professors.

Professors from those cantons were the attendants of the training. The coach persons were professors Sedžida Hadžić and Zilka Spahić Šiljak.The training topics were methodical and metodological frame, theory, tools and workshops as a practical approach to the intercultural competencies. The special attention in this part is payed to the continuum of intercultural development that shows the way how a person goes from ethnocentrical into ethnorelative phase in which is able to actively accept the diversity. The attendants in the practical part through workshops awakened the complexity of identity, difference and the universal values of ETHOS: Ethics, Toleration, Openness and Solidarity.
